Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit — such as your preferences, login session, or browsing behaviour — to improve your experience on return visits.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels that serve comparable functions. This policy covers all of these collectively as “cookies.”

2. Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.

  • Authentication token (JWT): Keeps you logged in to your ProofBeer dashboard. Set on login, expires with your session or after inactivity.
  • CSRF token: Protects form submissions from cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Session cookie: Maintains your current workspace selection and UI state within a session.

2.2 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. All data is aggregated and anonymised.

  • Google Tag Manager (GTM): We use GTM to manage analytics and marketing tags on our website. GTM itself does not set cookies but loads scripts that may. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel Analytics: Collects anonymous, privacy-friendly page view data to help us measure website performance. No personal data or cross-site tracking. See Vercel Analytics Privacy.

2.3 Functional Cookies

These cookies remember choices you make to provide a more personalised experience.

  • Theme preference: Stores your selected colour theme (light/dark) so it persists between visits.
  • Workspace preference: Remembers your last active workspace so you land in the right place on login.

3. Cookies Set by Embedded Widgets

When you embed a ProofBeer review widget or feedback form on your website, the widget may set cookies on your visitors' devices to:

  • Prevent duplicate form submissions from the same visitor
  • Track form view and submission events for analytics
  • Store partially completed form responses (Abandoned Data feature)

If you use ProofBeer widgets on your website, you are responsible for disclosing these cookies in your own cookie policy and obtaining consent from your visitors where required by applicable law.

4. How to Control Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Common options:

  • Block all cookies (note: this will prevent you from logging in to ProofBeer)
  • Block third-party cookies only
  • Delete all cookies when you close the browser
  • Accept cookies from specific websites only

Browser-specific instructions: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Our website does not currently respond to DNT signals because there is no industry-wide standard for how they should be interpreted. We will update this policy if that changes.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We recommend checking this page periodically.

7. Contact Us
